Google, on Tuesday introduced a new version of its essential Search product, featuring enhanced AI capabilities that allow users to ask more specific questions, create AI agents based on searches.
This update was revealed at the company’s annual Google I/O conference in Mountain View, California.
The improved Search bar adds the latest Gemini 3.5 Flash AI model, enabling searches for photos, videos, files, and Chrome tabs, as explained by the company.
Additionally, users can engage in conversations with the updated Search through Google’s AI Overview panel, which will automatically switch to AI Mode for continued dialogue.
Google is also introducing what it refers to as information agents, which allow users to set alerts for when a specific athlete announces a new shoe collaboration. The agent will continuously scan the web for updates on potential matches and notify users when it discovers them.
According to Google, users will be able to instruct it to create an agent that searches for all desired amenities. Once the agent identifies a location that meets the specified criteria, it will send an alert.
Google launches Dreambeans
Earlier, Google introduced Dreambeans, a new experimental artificial intelligence (AI) app designed to transform users’ digital activity into personalised daily stories, bringing together information from multiple Google services in one place.
Developed by Google Labs, Dreambeans connects to apps such as Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Photos, YouTube and Search history, with user permission.
The AI then analyses the information and generates a limited number of customised stories each day based on a user’s habits, interests and upcoming plans.
