IG Islamabad visits Shifa International Hospital
IG Islamabad visited Shifa International along with police officers and reviewed the security arrangements. Strict security arrangements were made outside Shifa International Hospital, and a heavy police contingent was deployed.
The Federal Police have also been alerted regarding the transfer of the PTI founder to the hospital, and the personnel at the Police Lines Headquarters have been ordered to be ready.
According to sources, it has been decided to declare a part of Shifa International Hospital as a sub-jail. As soon as the consultation is completed, a notification of the sub-jail will be issued, which will be issued by the Chief Commissioner Islamabad.
According to reports, a large number of police officers have also been deployed around the hospital. Traffic police have also reportedly started removing vehicles from the area around Shifa International Hospital.
According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held an important meeting today.
According to reports, it is likely that Imran Khan will be shifted to the hospital tonight. On August 18, the Supreme Court had ordered Khan to be moved to the hospital within 2 days.

Separately, Journalists asked Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar if Imran Khan would be shifted to the hospital by midnight today, 12 AM.
In response, Tarar said that there was still plenty of time before midnight. He said the administration was looking into the matter and was responsible for handling the transfer.
Where is Imran Khan right now?
The Supreme Court ordered that Imran Khan be transferred to Shifa International Hospital from Adiala Jail. It also sought his complete medical record.
A three-member bench led by Justice Shahid Waheed heard petitions about meetings with Imran Khan and his treatment.
The Supreme Court ordered that a medical board be formed. It said Imran Khan should be moved to the hospital under strict security. The law and order situation outside the hospital should also not be affected.
Will Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa Hospital?
Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that Imran Khan can be moved to Shifa Hospital if he cannot get the required treatment at a government hospital under current laws.
He also said the government could allow Imran Khan to go abroad for treatment if needed.
The minister said the government has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court to seek clarity on its decision.
He stressed that the review petition does not mean the government is refusing to follow the court’s order. He said the government will act according to the court’s directions.
Tariq Fazal also gave the example of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. He said Nawaz Sharif was moved to government hospitals during his time in prison. He was later allowed to go abroad for treatment.
The minister repeated that the government will follow the Supreme Court’s order on Imran Khan’s treatment.
He said the review petition was filed only to understand how the court’s decision should be implemented. It was not meant to reject the order.
