Iran Strait of Hormuz
According to Iranian authorities, a new control line has been established in the area stretching from Umm Al Quwain to Qeshm Island.
All of the vessels that are entering the zone must now contact Iranian authorities and obtain official permission before passage.
Officials have said that the move is aimed at improving maritime security. It is also expected to prevent illegal activities and protect sensitive installations in the region.
Iranian authorities also said that all communication cables and undersea infrastructure in the area will also come under their monitoring system. In addition, relevant bodies will have the authority to impose charges, according to the reports.
The Strait of Hormuz is considered a key global trade route, as a large portion of the world’s oil and financial data passes through it. This makes it a highly important route for the global economy.
‘Iran war ‘will end very quickly,’ says Trump
The President of the United States (US), Donald Trump, while talking to the lawmakers at the White House yesterday, said that the US “will end the war very quickly” with Iran.
In another development, the US Senate has voted to move forward with a measure that would limit President Donald Trump’s war powers over Iran.
The plan is expected to force President Trump to end the war in Iran. Or to get an approval from Congress to continue military action.
The vote passed 50 to 47 after some Republicans joined Democrats in supporting the move.
Before this, Donald Trump had said that Iran is eager to make a deal. He also warned that the US may launch another attack if no agreement is reached.
Speaking to reporters, President Trump said Iran still has a limited ability to respond. He said the US could carry out strikes in the next few days, possibly on Friday, Saturday, or early next week.
