Karachi firing: Shaheen Force official martyred, another injured

A Shaheen Force official was martyred in a shooting by unidentified individuals at the Airport Colony gate in Karachi. According to media reports, officials patrolling within the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station attempted to stop suspicious individuals travelling in a rickshaw and on a motorcycle. The suspects opened fire when the officers tried to stop them.

Police stated that the firing resulted in the martyrdom of one Shaheen Force officer and left another injured. The injured officer sustained a gunshot wound to the arm and was shifted to a hospital for immediate medical treatment.

Investigating officials stated that the suspects, who were travelling in a rickshaw and on a motorcycle, fled the scene after the shooting. Police said that a search operation to apprehend the suspects is underway.

It is worth noting that a police officer who was injured in firing by bandits at the Korangi Jam Sadiq Bridge in Karachi succumbed to his injuries a few days ago. In a separate incident, a police officer was martyred near Jamali Pul on Karachi’s Super Highway. Police said the officer was standing near the bridge, waiting for a colleague to report for duty as part of their routine. When the colleague arrived, he briefly stepped away to drink water at a nearby ambulance.

During this time, an unidentified man approached the remaining officer and engaged him in a brief conversation before opening fire. The attacker then seized the officer’s service weapon and fled on a motorcycle with an accomplice.

Police stated that the suspects appeared to have been lying in wait to target the officer. The deceased officer, identified as Zaman, sustained five to six gunshot wounds. He was posted at the Sohrab Goth Police Station.
