The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light rain in Karachi today (Tuesday), although the city is likely to remain hot and humid during the next 24 hours.
According to the latest weather forecast, the maximum temperature in Karachi is expected to remain between 35°C and 37°C today.
The minimum temperature recorded in the city was 28°C, while the humidity level reached 81%, adding to the discomfort caused by the hot and humid conditions.

The PMD said winds are currently blowing from the southwest at a speed of 11 kilometres per hour. Light rain is possible in different parts of Karachi during the day.

The weather department has forecast rain and thunderstorms in parts of Sindh until September 16, with southeastern districts expected to receive rainfall at intervals.

Karachi faces water shortage
A power failure at the Dhabeji pumping station disrupted several water pumps, raising concerns over water supply to parts of Karachi.
A Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) spokesperson said the electricity supply to several sections of the pumping station stopped at around 6am. K-Electric said a fault in its cable network caused the outage.
The outage affected the third and fourth phases of the pumping station and the K-III pump house. As a result, 10 of the station’s 21 pumps stopped working.
Dhabeji plays a key role in supplying water to Karachi, so any disruption at the facility can affect water supply in different parts of the city.
