Karachi police act against young boy for reckless driving'

Police have registered a case on behalf of the state against an influential young man for obscenity, reckless driving and creating chaos in Karachi’s Defence area.

According to details, the incident took place on Saba Avenue in Defence, where the youngster identified as Rahim Tariq caused a public disturbance.

A police officer said that during routine patrol, a youngster was spotted driving a black car recklessly while completely naked. His actions caused panic and offended public sentiments.

When police tried to stop the vehicle, the driver sped away, interfering with official duty. However, the car was forced to stop after a tyre burst due to overspeeding.

The suspect identified himself as Rahim Tariq, son of Tariq Janu. He allegedly misbehaved with police officials. During the incident, his father arrived and misled the police, saying he would make his son wear clothes, but instead managed to help him escape.

Police have registered a case against both Rahim Tariq and his father Tariq Janu who is said to be a textile mill owner.

The family has been fined Rs 200,000 while a case has also been  registered against Rahim for reckless driving and obstructing official duty, while his father faces charges of aiding escape and deceiving police.
