Khwarij drone attack on cricket ground in Mamund area of Bajaur injures three people

A drone attack by Khawarij targeted a cricket ground in the Shahi Tangi area of Mamond tehsil in Bajaur today. The attack has left three common people injured, according to details.

Local sources said that the incident took place while a cricket match was underway at the ground.

The injured were immediately shifted to a hospital. There, they are receiving medical treatment, rescue officials have confirmed.

Following the attack, security in the area has been placed on high alert. Security forces have also cordoned off the area. They have launched a search operation to trace the attackers.

Tribal elders and local residents strongly condemned the incident and demanded action to eradicate militant activity in the region.

It was also stated that Khawarij elements have previously used quadcopters too in order to target civilians in such incidents and spread fear and terror among the public. Sources also add that there is much video evidence of it.

13 Khwarij killed, security forces foil infiltration attempts 

Yesterday, Pakistan security forces stopped two infiltration attempts along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the incidents took place on April 28–29 when forces detected movement of armed groups trying to enter Pakistani territory.

In Mohmand District, security personnel carried out an operation after spotting a group crossing the border. Eight militants were killed in the exchange of fire.

In a separate incident in North Waziristan, another infiltration attempt was foiled. Here, five more militants were killed after a clash, reports say.

Security forces said both attempts were successfully stopped along the border areas.

Information ministry rejects Afghan media claims of attacks

Previously, the Information Ministry on Monday dismissed Afghan media reports claiming that the country had launched attacks on a university and residential areas in Kunar province. It called the allegations baseless.

The Ministry rejected what it described as propaganda by Indian-backed Afghan media regarding the attack in Kunar.
