Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrives in Riyadh on official visit to Saudi Arabia

The Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Mohsin Naqvi, on Tuesday, arrived in Riyadh on an official visit to Saudi Arabia. This visit marks a major step in strengthening the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The Minister was received by Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport. The reception of Mohsin Naqvi on this official visit to Saudi Arabia is seen as a symbol of a strong close relationship between the two countries. This visit will provide Pakistan and Saudi Arabia with a platform to discuss matters of mutual interest such as internal security, narcotics control and security cooperation. In the past, the two countries have shared strong diplomatic ties for decades. They have frequently engaged to strengthen cooperation in areas such as politics, economy, security and defence.

Saudi Arabia issues foreign workers a final deadline

Earlier, Saudi Arabia issued a final deadline for employers to regularise the status of foreign workers. The country warned that employees with work permits expired for more than three months will be automatically removed from official records after June 30. According to the Saudi Gazette, the Qiwa platform, operating under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, said the automatic removal process will begin from July 1 for expatriate workers whose work permits have remained unrenewed for over three months. The platform also urged employers to renew their employees’ work permits or complete the procedures to transfer their services to another employer before the June 30 deadline.
