The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified how parents can register a child for a B-Form with Father CNIC.
Parents seeking a B-Form for their children may face different requirements depending on whether the mother’s CNIC has been lost or was never issued, according to NADRA.
NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali addressed the issue during a podcast, explaining that the two situations must be treated differently when determining the steps needed to register a child.
The clarification highlights the importance of identity verification and complete family records in the child registration process.
If the mother’s CNIC was previously issued but is no longer available, the absence of the physical card does not necessarily prevent a child from being registered.
According to the spokesperson, alternative verification methods may be available, including verification through the mother’s CNIC number or biometric checks, such as fingerprint verification.
Parents should contact NADRA to establish which verification method applies to their particular case.
In such cases, the completion of identity documents and family records becomes important. NADRA has noted that some families may also have incomplete marriage registration records, which can create difficulties when establishing the family identification number and completing a child’s registration.
Missing or incomplete records may delay the issuance of the B-Form until the relevant information has been verified and updated.
NADRA’s guidance suggests that parents should first establish whether the mother’s CNIC was previously issued.
· If the CNIC is lost: Ask NADRA about verification using the CNIC number or biometric methods.
· If the CNIC was never issued: Ask about the required identity documentation and any steps needed to complete the family record.
· If family records are incomplete: Confirm whether marriage registration or other supporting documents need to be updated before applying for the child’s B-Form.
