The Establishment Division has issued a new circular aimed at improving office discipline and promoting a professional working environment, directing all officers and employees to strictly comply with official office hours, biometric attendance, and the prescribed dress code.
According to the circular, all employees must strictly observe the official working hours from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. The division has also instructed departments to ensure punctual attendance through the mandatory implementation of the biometric attendance system.
The circular further outlines a dress code for government employees. Officers and staff have been directed to either wear a lounge suit or a shalwar kameez paired with a waistcoat to maintain a professional and dignified atmosphere in government offices.
To improve the workplace environment, the Establishment Division has also advised employees to avoid making noise or engaging in loud conversations in office corridors, ensuring a calm and organised setting for official work.
The circular states that these instructions have taken immediate effect, and the relevant authorities have been tasked with ensuring their full implementation.
Earlier, the federal government approved a 7% increase in the salaries of government employees from Grade 1 to Grade 22, with the revised pay package taking effect from July 1, 2026.
According to official documents, the government has also decided to merge the existing 15% and 10% ad hoc allowances into employees’ basic pay as part of the revised salary structure.
The changes will be reflected in the new pay scales applicable to federal government employees.
In addition to the salary increase, the government has approved a 50% increase in the conveyance allowance for federal employees.
Officials also announced the introduction of an executive allowance for officers in Grades 17 to 22, although further details regarding its implementation have not yet been released.
The measures are part of the government’s revised pay package aimed at increasing compensation for federal employees.
