The Sindh Cabinet has approved a relief package for provincial government employees, introducing a new differential allowance for employees in Grades 1 to 16 and increasing the conveyance allowance by 50% for all provincial government workers.
The package, approved during a cabinet meeting, will take effect from July 1, 2026.
Under the decision, employees in Grades 1 to 16 will receive a Differential Allowance 2026 equal to 2% of their frozen basic pay as of 2022.
The government has also approved a 50% increase in monthly conveyance allowances across all pay scales. The allowance for employees in Grades 1 to 4 has been increased from Rs. 1,785 to Rs. 2,678, while employees in Grades 5 to 10 will receive Rs. 2,898, up from Rs. 1,932. For Grades 11 to 15, the allowance has risen from Rs. 2,856 to Rs. 4,284 per month.
Employees in Grade 16 and above will now receive a monthly conveyance allowance of Rs. 7,500, compared with the previous Rs. 5,000.
The cabinet also approved an increase in the Special Conveyance Allowance for employees with disabilities, raising it from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 10,000 per month.
However, the cabinet rejected a proposal to introduce an executive allowance for provincial government employees.
