New UAE visa rule: Police certificate now mandatory for Pakistanis

UAE visa Pakistanis Police certificate

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a new requirement for Pakistani nationals applying for work visas, making a police character certificate mandatory as part of the application process.

According to Pakistan’s Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment in Islamabad, the UAE government has made the police character certificate compulsory for all Pakistani work visa applicants. The new policy came into effect on July 20.

Under the updated regulations, applicants must first obtain a Good Conduct (Police Character) Certificate from the relevant authorities in Pakistan. The certificate must then be attested by the UAE Embassy in Pakistan before the work visa application is submitted.

The Bureau has advised all prospective workers planning to travel to the UAE for employment to secure the required certificate in advance to avoid delays or complications in the visa process.

Earlier, Dubai launched a new support platform to help people facing visa-related problems, offering guidance and essential services to stranded tourists, job seekers, and others in need.

Dubai Immigration chief Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri announced the initiative during a press briefing on Wednesday, alongside senior officials. He urged individuals experiencing visa issues to visit the Al Awir Centre, where authorities will assess their cases and provide assistance.

The newly launched centre will offer temporary accommodation for those without a place to stay, along with free meals and other essential support. People requiring medical care will receive free health check-ups and dental treatment.

Al Marri said the platform will also help individuals facing difficulties returning to their home countries by addressing the obstacles preventing their departure.

He added that the centre has been established to support stranded tourists and job seekers, stressing that Dubai considers them valued guests and is committed to resolving their concerns.
