Are O-level, A-level exams getting postponed in Pakistan

The A-level and O-level examinations for the year 2026 will be held as per the schedule, with no changes made, as announced on Thursday.

The examinations will start on Friday, April 24, 2026, with no cancellations.

Cambridge further stated that we are keeping an eye on the ongoing situation with the help of the British Council.

O Levels, for ages 14 to 16, and A Levels, for ages 16 to 19, are international qualifications from Cambridge.

O Levels give a broad basic education, while A Levels focus on specific subjects to prepare students for university.

Exams are held twice a year, from May or June and October or November, through the British Council or local exam boards.

Prior to this, there were rumours that the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) exams that had been scheduled for April 9 and 10 would be postponed.

FBISE took to the social media platform Facebook to address the misleading information.

According to the post, all FBISE exams will take place according to the schedule on April 9 and 10, Thursday and Friday this week.

FBISE further requested the students to reach their designated exam centres on the right day and time.
