The Pakistan cricket team is now in Birmingham for the third and final Test against England, with five players coming midway through the series to replace the players performing poorly. The team is looking to redeem itself.
With Pakistan comprehensively beaten in the first two Tests, England have an unbeatable 2-0 record in the two Tests they have played.
The last game at Edgbaston will now be a chance for Pakistan to not get defeated by a clean sweep and regain confidence.
The five new players have provided the team management with a few more choices for the series finale.
Arafat Minhas
Left-arm spin all-rounder Arafat Minhas has played 3 ODI matches and 4 T20I matches for Pakistan.
He succeeded in getting the first five wickets off his debut ODI against Australia, which is the first time a Pakistani bowler ever did that. In 17 first-class matches, Minhas has scored 684 runs and has taken 13 wickets.
Saad Baig
Karachi wicketkeeper-batter Saad Baig was recognised following an outstanding Quaid-e-Azam Trophy season, when he amassed 1,000 runs and was voted the Player of the Tournament.
At the end of the last season, he had scored 1369 runs and 56 dismissals behind the stumps.
Mohammad Imran Junior
Imran Junior has bowled for the Swat side in eight first-class games and has picked up 23 wickets. He has also played with Pakistan Shaheens and recently been to a fast bowling camp organised by the NCA.
Razaullah
The 21-year-old right-arm fast bowler has picked up 30 wickets in eight first-class games. He can also bat and has played for Rawalpindiz in the Pakistan Super League.
Mohammad Imran Randhawa
Randhawa has also a lot more home experience with 58 appearances in first-class cricket and 110 wickets. The all-rounder is also a part of the Multan Sultans team for the recent PSL.
The Pakistan team will be holding their first training session at Edgbaston at 9.30 am on September 4.
The third test will start on the 9th of September, and Pakistan will need to improve significantly in order to avoid another 3-0 series loss.
