The Pakistan hockey team, on Tuesday gave their all into a tough match against rivals India in the FIH Pro League in London, England.
The Pakistani team went down 3-4 in the intense match against India. Many key players of the team also suffered injuries amid the game.
Nadeem Ahmed, in the eighth minute, converted a penalty corner to the Pakistan hockey team a chance at leading the game.
On the other hand, India’s Abhishek delivered a strong performance in the 22nd minute. Later on in the 24th minute, Nilakanta Sharma struck back to take control.
During the second half of the fierce Pakistan vs India match, Sukhjit Singh and Rajinder Sindh scored successive goals for India.
Pakistan captain Abubakar Mahmood and Moin Shakeel then pulled goals back with penalty corners make the score 3-4. However, this was not enough.
The team’s powerhouse of a goalkeeper, Ali Raza, came to Pakistan’s rescue. He produced many saves throughout the match.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani expressed appreciation over the team’s tough performance against India.
He stated, “Even with our captain and two key players sidelined through injury, our young players showed tremendous courage and resolve on the field. To compete so strongly against an Indian side that recently defeated world-class Netherlands 3-2 is a clear proof of our team’s immense potential and a promising sign for the future.”
Now the Pakistan hockey team’s campaign in the FIH Pro League 2026 has come to an end. The team suffered a tragic series of 13 consecutive defeats.
