Pakistan’s tallest building will soon be built in the City of Lights, Karachi.
The twin-building will consist of 82-storey towers spread across six acres in DHA Golf Club, Karachi.
A ceremony was also held ahead of the start of the project.
DHA City Administrator said that the towers are expected to become a game-changer for the country’s construction industry while boosting commercial and residential activity in DHA. He also invited local and overseas investors to explore opportunities in DHA City, which he said offers a secure environment for business and housing projects.
Karachi is already home to several high-rise buildings, including the current tallest in Pakistan, the Bahria Icon Tower. Standing at 273 metres (896 feet) with 62 floors, the mixed-use skyscraper houses offices and luxury apartments.
Bahria Icon Tower is among the tallest buildings in South Asia. The construction of the Bahria Icon Tower started in 2009 and was completed in March 2016.
Karachi has tall buildings because of rapid economic growth, high land costs, and a booming real estate sector. As Pakistan’s main financial hub, the city builds upward to house growing businesses, corporate headquarters, and rising urban populations within limited central space.
