The government is likely to reduce the prices of petroleum products, providing some relief to consumers.
According to the private media channel, petrol prices could be reduced by Rs1.50 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel may fall by Rs2.73 per litre for the next pricing period starting September 30.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is expected to determine the new petroleum prices tonight.
The possible reduction comes after the government recently cut petrol prices by Rs2.27 per litre and reduced the price of high-speed diesel by Rs3.56 per litre.
Following the previous reduction, petrol was priced at Rs389.03 per litre, while high-speed diesel was set at Rs404.97 per litre.
The final prices will be announced after OGRA completes its assessment and the government takes a decision.
