The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has announced a 20-member squad for the Pakistan Under-21 hockey team’s upcoming tour of Oman.
The squad was finalised following successful selection trials held at the Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium in Islamabad, where players showcased their skills before the national selectors.
The Oman tour is expected to provide valuable international exposure for the young players as they continue preparations for upcoming international competitions. The PHF believes the tour will play a key role in developing the next generation of Pakistan’s hockey talent.
Talented striker Hamza Fayyaz has been named captain of the team, while Samiullah will serve as vice-captain for the Oman tour. The 20-member squad includes two goalkeepers, nine defenders and half-backs, four midfielders, and five strikers.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation expressed confidence that the Under-21 team will showcase its full potential and deliver a strong performance during the tour of Oman.
The final selection was approved by PHF President Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani on the recommendations of the national selection committee headed by Olympian Samiullah Khan. The committee also included Olympians Nasir Ali, Naeem Akhtar, Kashif Jawad, and M. Khalid.
Star forward Hamza Fayyaz will lead the team as captain, while Samiullah has been appointed vice-captain for the tour.

Zain; Halfbacks: Ali Hamza, Ali Raza, Ali Mehdi, Ali Ansar, Samiullah (Vice-Captain), Azir Khan; Midfielders: Saifullah, Muhammad Shehir, Yahya Najib, Humair Arshad; Forwards: Hamza Fayyaz (Captain), Ghulam Mustafa, M. Ahmed, Saif Ahmed, Hassan.
The team will now begin preparations ahead of its tour to Oman, where it will compete in international fixtures aimed at testing young talent and building future national strength.
