Drug dealer Anmol Pinky will be shifted to Lahore, Punjab soon for investigation.
Last month, it emerged across the country that Pinky had been operating a nationwide narcotics network from Lahore and Karachi for several years with apparent impunity.
According to reports, she, along with her brothers and other associates, allegedly built an organised network that used WhatsApp and social media platforms to supply drugs, particularly cocaine, to clients in upscale urban areas.
The case quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread public attention and debate.
Investigators estimated that she sold drugs worth millions of rupees daily, and her clients included important personalities and students. They conceded that a portion of her earnings went to certain law enforcement officials for protection.
When she got arrested by the Sindh police, the Punjab police also said that there were three old cases registered against her and her brothers in Lahore several years ago.
“We are approaching the courts concerned to seek permission for the arrest of Anmol alias Pinky,” the DIG said, and added that the Punjab Police would seek custody of the suspect from Sindh Police to interrogate her.
“The police teams have been formed to bring Anmol from Karachi to Lahore,” DIG Raza said.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has already reportedly sought a report on the matter in her case.
