The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more rain in different parts of the country during the next 24 hours. It has advised people to stay careful and follow safety instructions.

Rain with thunderstorms is expected in Islamabad, upper and central Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Some areas may also receive heavy rainfall with strong winds.
The department said Islamabad and many districts of upper and central Punjab are likely to receive rain at intervals.
The weather is expected to become cooler. Additionally, the low-lying areas may face water accumulation after heavy showers.
Heavy rain may also cause flash floods in local streams and landslides in hilly areas. There is also a risk of urban flooding in some cities.

Meanwhile, Karachi is expected to remain partly cloudy with a chance of light drizzle during the evening.
Earlier in the day, rain in Lahore brought pleasant weather and cool winds, reducing the heat.
The department said there is a 20 to 80 per cent chance of rain in the city. Showers are expected at different times during the day.
The Meteorological Department has advised citizens, travellers and tourists to avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather.
It also urged people planning to visit hilly areas to check the latest weather updates before leaving.
The department has also asked local administrations and rescue teams to stay prepared to deal with any emergency caused by heavy rain.
NDMA warns of possible flooding
Previously, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) reviewed the flood situation across the country and directed all relevant departments to stay on high alert as more rainfall is expected over the next 48 hours on Wednesday.
The review took place during a meeting of the Emergency Response Committee held at the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC).
