The senior police officials have claimed that a major police operation could take place in Rawalakot, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), tonight.
The officials stated that an agreement had been reached between what they described as “powerful quarters” and Umar Nazir Kashmiri of the banned organisation, the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
According to the sources, the arrangement would be made only if those who are accused of killing police personnel surrender to the law enforcement authorities.
The officials added that Sardar Aman and Khawaja Mehran would surrender during the operation.
They further alleged that authorities have planned to use tear gas and aerial firing late at night to disperse crowds in the area.
The sources claimed the arrests of Khawaja Mehran and Sardar Aman would be presented as the outcome of the operation, while Umar Nazir Kashmiri would remain in hiding and seek protective bail from a court.

Letter alleges Tehseen Gillani had past contacts with RAW-linked figures; supports banned JAAC
A letter circulating on social media has resurfaced with claims regarding London-based activist Tehseen Gillani, who recently participated in a protest outside the Pakistan High Commission in London in support of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC).
According to the letter, purportedly written by former JKLF chairman Hameed Butt, Gillani allegedly held meetings with individuals linked to India’s intelligence agency, RAW. The letter is being shared online as evidence to support these allegations.
The authenticity of the letter and the claims made in it have not been independently verified, and no official Pakistani authority has publicly confirmed the allegations.
Gillani has been active in London-based protests related to Kashmir and has recently expressed support for JAAC. At the time of publication, he had not publicly responded to the allegations contained in the circulating letter. Further verification and official confirmation are awaited.
Earlier, the banned Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) was accused of abducting four personnel of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Police in Rawalakot, according to official claims.
Authorities alleged that the four officers were on their way from their homes to report for duty when they were intercepted and abducted by individuals linked to the banned organisation. The abducted officers were identified as Selection Grade Constable Shahid Shafiq, Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Sagheer, Constable Muhammad Ishtiaq and Constable Zeeshan Ishaq.
