What is Punjab Board’s new marking policy

The Punjab educational boards have introduced a new marking system for Intermediate Part-II practical examinations.

Under the new policy, the written portion of practical exams will not be checked at examination centres any more.

Instead of that, answer sheets will be sent to the relevant examination boards for centralised marking. This will be similar to the theory papers.

The new system will apply to practical exams in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and Statistics.

Students will still be assessed at their examination centres based on their laboratory work, practical notebooks, and viva.

The annual Intermediate Part-II practical examinations of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore will begin on July 10, 2026. And the new marking policy will be implemented from these exams onward.
