Samsung phones get an increase in production of their phones in Pakistan.

According to the latest data shared by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Pakistan’s local mobile phone manufacturing and assembly increased by 10% in May 2026, with domestic factories producing 2 million handsets.

Production rose from 1.81 million units in April, reflecting higher monthly output by local manufacturers.

Among the major brands, VGO Tel has the highest rate of production, with a rise of 29%. Tecno followed with 24% growth, while Samsung got a 7% increase.

However, production declined for several other brands. Output of Vivo fell 30%, Itel dropped 29%, and Infinix recorded a 19% decline over the same period.

Despite the monthly increase, overall production during the first five months of 2026 stood at 11.17 million units, down 7% from 12.05 million units recorded during the corresponding period last year.

PTA data also showed that locally manufactured and assembled phones continued to meet most of Pakistan’s demand. Domestic production accounted for 86% of total mobile phone demand in May, compared with 83% in April.

For the January-May period, locally produced devices met 85% of the country’s total mobile phone demand, highlighting the sector’s continued role in reducing reliance on imported handsets.
