Saudi Arabia has announced a new one year policy of multiple visa entry for Umrah pilgrims. This step has eased the matter of applying for a new visa each time and has made it easier for Muslims around the world to perform Umrah on more than one occasion.
Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah introduced this initiative aiming at improving the pilgrimage experience and providing greater flexibility for international visitors. The new visa is valid for 365 days from the date of issuance and allows pilgrims to enter and leave the Saudi Kingdom multiple times during its validity period.
The new policy states that pilgrims may stay in Saudi Arabia for a maximum cumulative period of 90 days over the one-year validity of the visa. Visitors can divide their stay across several trips. People who wish to perform Umrah more than once in a year or combine religious travel with visits to family and friends can benefit from this newly introduced policy.
Pilgrim requirements and visa conditions
- Pilgrims must purchase an approved service package through the Nusuk platform before travelling
- Obtaining an Umrah permit via the Nusuk application is mandatory before performing Umrah
- The approved service package ensures access to authorized accommodation, transportation, and other essential services
- The one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa is valid for 365 days from the date of issue
- Visa becomes inactive once the holder leaves Saudi Arabia and can be reactivated for future visits after the traveller completes the required procedures and meets the prescribed conditions
- Multiple entries are permitted during the visa’s one-year validity, subject to Saudi regulations
- The visa cannot be used during the Hajj season, from 1 Dhul-Qa’dah to 13 Dhul-Hijjah, as the period reserved for the annual Hajj pilgrimage
- Travellers intending to perform Hajj must obtain a separate Hajj visa
