The government of Sindh has extended the bike fuel subsidy, continuing the relief for the public.
In a meeting on May 5, the Chief Minister (CM) of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, approved the extension of the People’s Motorcycle Fuel Subsidy Program.
The date for the bike fuel subsidy in Sindh has been extended till May 31, 2026.
As per the instructions of the Sindh CM, Rs2 billion of funds will be released for providing a subsidy to the public.
The cabinet of Sindh informed CM Murad Ali Shah that more than 548,000 people have benefited from the fuel subsidy, and Rs1.096 billion has been distributed so far.
Murad Ali Shah also approved a reduction in the sales tax for motorcycle riding services.

According to the spokesperson of the Sindh CM, the government has reduced the sales tax from five per cent to two per cent.
This major cut will help the online drivers to take advantage of the facility.
Sindh appointment of vice chancellors
Changes were also approved in the process of appointing vice chancellors. The maximum age limit has been increased from 62 to 65 years.
Required experience has been raised from 15 to 20 years, and candidates must have at least 10 research publications recognised by the Higher Education Commission.
Sindh Protection of Human Rights Amendment Bill 2026
The cabinet also approved the Sindh Protection of Human Rights Amendment Bill 2026 and sent it to the provincial assembly.
The amendment adds business and human rights into the law and increases the term of the chairperson and members from four to five years. It also allows former judges of higher courts to become chairpersons.
