The Ministry of Energy has announced a trainee programme for young students.
The Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation (PMDC) has opened applications for a one-year Management Trainee Programme, offering young Pakistani graduates the opportunity to gain professional experience in the public sector.
The programme offers two positions: Management Trainee (Sales & Marketing) and Management Trainee (Legal).
Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs80,000 during the training period.
Two positions available
PMDC is seeking one trainee for each of the two positions.
Candidates applying for the Sales & Marketing position must hold a BBA or MBA in Marketing with at least 16 years of education.
For the Legal position, applicants must have a BA-LLB degree.
The programme is aimed at recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in their respective fields.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be Pakistani nationals and must have obtained their qualifications from institutions recognised by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Candidates must have:
· At least 16 years of education
· A minimum 3.0 CGPA
· Graduated in 2025 or 2026
· A maximum age of 28 years
· No mandatory post-qualification work experience
The eligibility criteria mean the programme is primarily aimed at young graduates who have recently completed their studies.
Rs80,000 monthly stipend
Successful candidates will receive a lump-sum monthly stipend of Rs80,000 throughout the one-year programme.
PMDC says the traineeship will be offered on a contractual training basis and will not create a regular employer-employee relationship.
The corporation has also clarified that completing the programme will not guarantee permanent employment with PMDC.
How will candidates be selected?
Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will go through a written assessment followed by an interview.
PMDC’s selection criteria are:
· 30% weightage to academic performance
· 40% to the written assessment
· 30% to the interview
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stages of the recruitment process.
PMDC has also stated that no TA/DA will be provided to candidates appearing in the recruitment process.
Application deadline
Applications for both positions are being accepted online through PMDC’s official careers portal.
The deadline to apply is October 13, 2026, with both vacancies currently listed as open.
Eligible graduates interested in the programme are advised to review the requirements carefully and submit their applications before the deadline.
