The Meteorological Department has issued an important weather forecast regarding conditions and rainfall across the country.
In different areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Azad Kashmir rain has been recorded and rain was reported in Karak, Swat, Abbottabad, Malakand and Mansehra in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Snowfall in Galyat and Naran Vally has made the weather colder.
In Neelam Valley a landslide has blocked the main highway at the Kel Sheikh Bela point that stranded more than 20 tourist vehicles.
The Meteorological Department has forecast more rain in the upper parts of the country today. Light rain is expected in various sectors and surrounding areas of the federal capital during the morning hours. Recent rains have led to a drop in temperature in Islamabad, where the morning temperature was recorded at 21°C, with daytime temperatures expected to reach up to 28°C.
Winds are expected to blow at around 8 km/h throughout the day in Islamabad. Intermittent rainfall is also likely to continue in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In contrast, Karachi is expected to remain clear and hot, with temperatures likely to reach 35°C today. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no chance of rain in the city at present.
In Balochistan, rain and winds are expected in Quetta, Zhob, Ziarat, Qila Saifullah, Pishin, Barkhan, and Kohlu.
The authority has further warned about strong winds, lightning, and hail that could cause damage to the weak buildings, trees, crops, and electricity systems.
According to the NEOC, current weather patterns remain consistent with forecasts issued three to four months earlier.
The authority has also released a broader outlook reviewing expected weather conditions across the country for the April to June period.
