The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has issued important instructions for women beneficiaries regarding the Benazir SIM on Wednesday.
BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid advised women who have not yet collected their free Benazir SIM from a BISP office, or are using another SIM, to visit their nearest BISP office and get the free SIM.

She asked beneficiaries to bring their original CNIC and personal mobile phone when collecting the SIM. She also advised them to ask the staff to insert the SIM into their phone at the office.
Rubina Khalid said women will receive an SMS from the relevant bank when their payment is transferred to their digital wallet.
After withdrawing the money, they will receive another SMS confirming the amount transferred and received.
She said that this message will serve as proof of payment and help beneficiaries check that they have received the full amount.
Also, she warned women not to hand over their mobile phones to any agent. She said only the original CNIC and biometric verification are required to receive payments, and there is no need to give anyone a mobile phone.
The BISP chairperson also advised beneficiaries to keep their mobile phones and SIMs with them at all times.
She further added that this will help protect their messages and complaint records. She added that all BISP payments, services and facilities are provided free of cost.
Has BISP been closed in Pakistan?
BISP has dismissed reports claiming that the welfare scheme is being closed in Pakistan permanently.
BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid said during an online public interaction that rumours about the programme’s closure were “baseless” and aimed at creating confusion among low-income families.
She described the claims as false and urged the beneficiaries not to be misled.
She said that BISP was established to support deserving households across Pakistan and was not linked to any political party.
According to the chairperson, the programme continues to operate with the objective of providing financial assistance to vulnerable families.
