Rockstar Games will make the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI “Extended Look” available on August 27, for the first time offering fans a detailed preview of the upcoming blockbuster in an unusual release format.

A big GTA reveal is set to air exclusively on Netflix before hitting other major platforms. In what’ll be a first for a major GTA reveal, it will premiere on Netflix before it makes it over to the other platforms.

GTA 6 Extended Look will premiere on Netflix on Thursday 27th August, 2026, at 12:00 PM PT / 1:00 PM ET.

The extended look will then be streamed online free of charge 6 hours later on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT.

The Netflix deal is quite different from Rockstar’s usual campaign, where they’d post trailers and promotional content directly onto YouTube and social media.

With Netflix being the first place these releases will go, this could be a massive event worldwide, with Rockstar reaching the massive fanbase that Netflix has around the globe.

But fans who don’t have Netflix won’t have to pay to watch the Extended Look. The extended look will be available for all to watch later that day as a free YouTube video.

The previous GTA 6 trailers have emphasised a strong cast of characters, story and film world, but this one’s titled “Extended Look,” indicating more gameplay.

This will allow players to see more of Lucia and Jason, even how the two main characters alternate when playing.

The presentation could also feature Vice City and the region of Leonida and driving, combat, environmental systems, weather effects, and other gameplay mechanics.

The game’s user interface and character make-up functionality would also give some insight into the actual gameplay of GTA 6.
