Imran Khan Shifa International Hospital
Security has been tightened around Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad as there are reports that PTI founder Imran Khan may be moved there for treatment.
Imran Khan’s personal physician Dr Faisal Sultan and his sisters Dr Uzma and Aleema Khan have arrived at Adiala Jail, according to reports. His cousin Qasim Zaman has also reportedly reached the jail.
Islamabad Inspector General of Police also visited Shifa International Hospital with other police officers. He reviewed the security arrangements around the hospital.
A large number of police officers have been deployed around the hospital. Federal police have also been alerted about the possible transfer.
Police personnel at Police Lines Headquarters have been asked to remain ready.
According to sources, part of Shifa International Hospital may be declared a sub-jail for Imran Khan.
A notification is expected after the necessary consultations. The notification will be issued by the Chief Commissioner Islamabad.
Traffic police have also reportedly started removing vehicles from roads around Shifa International Hospital as part of the security arrangements.
