Pakistan’s armed forces have paid tribute to the soldiers who gave their lives for the country. The tribute was given on Defence Day, September 6, 2026.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan.
Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu also honoured their sacrifices.
Armed forces honour families of martyrs
The armed forces also praised the services of the families of martyrs and veterans. They also appreciated their courage and sacrifices.
The ISPR said September 6 will always be remembered as a day of national unity and courage in Pakistan’s history.
Nation remembers 1965 war
The ISPR said the Pakistani nation stood together during the 1965 war.
People supported the armed forces in defending the country and faced the enemy with courage.
The military said Pakistani soldiers made great sacrifices on land, in the air and at sea to protect the country.
Sacrifices remembered by future generations
The ISPR said the sacrifices of Pakistan’s defenders show their strong loyalty to the country.
It added that the sacrifices of the martyrs will continue to guide and inspire future generations.
The ISPR also praised the families of the martyrs for showing courage and patience.
The military said the nation will never forget the sacrifices and services of its martyrs, veterans and their families.
It added that those who gave their lives for Pakistan’s defence and security will always be remembered in the country’s history
