Pakistan will be facing England in their third Test match at Edgbaston tomorrow, after the visitors suffered embarrassing defeats in the first two Test matches.
The visitors had been totally outplayed in the first Test at Headingley, losing by an innings and 103 runs.
They did not perform any better during the second Test at Lord’s when England cruised to a 194-run win to secure a 2-0 series win.
Having already lost the series, Pakistan will be playing to uphold their pride in Birmingham.
There have been some big changes in the Pakistan camp before the final Test.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a significant decision to drop seven players from the squad, including Mohammad Rizwan, Imam-ul-Haq and Salman Ali Agha.
Four uncapped players have been introduced into the squad, and players like Saim Ayub, Abdullah Fazal and Arafat Minhas have been given a chance.
These changes have not just been restricted to the playing squad either. The head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul were dismissed before the last Test.
Mike Hesson has now been handed in charge of Test duties, with Ashley Noffke being named the bowling coach.
There is no doubt that the Pakistani side headed by Babar Azam is a completely different team coming into this important match, particularly regarding the batting.
Pakistan failed to score more than 200 runs in any of their four innings in the first two Tests.
Meanwhile, England will be looking to enjoy a 3-0 series sweep at home.
The Edgbaston Test is thus no longer a game for Pakistan to simply win; instead, it has become a game where they must keep their spirits alive.
Two bad defeats and a radical overhaul of the squad and coaching staff have left the visitors with only one chance to redeem themselves and come home with something positive from an unappealing tour.
