Heavy rain lashed Islamabad and Rawalpindi, leaving several low-lying areas inundated as intermittent showers continued across the twin cities.
According to details, intermittent rainfall is continuing in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, resulting in the accumulation of water in low-lying areas.
The highest rainfall of 42 millimetres was recorded in Bokra, followed by 36mm in Golra and 15mm in Saidpur.
Meanwhile, 34mm of rain was recorded in Pirwadhai, 36mm in New Kattarian and 35mm in Shamsabad.
In view of the ongoing rainfall, the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi has been placed on high alert.
According to WASA officials, personnel have been deployed around Nullah Lai and other low-lying areas to monitor the situation and respond to any emergency.
Heavy machinery has also been kept on standby to ensure the swift drainage of accumulated rainwater.
Meanwhile, rainfall was also reported in Kharian, providing relief from the recent heat. Rainfall in the early hours of the morning turned the weather pleasant and brought a welcome respite for residents.
