RAAST transactions have crossed Rs50 trillion as the trend of digital payments continues to grow in Pakistan.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan’s digital payments system saw strong growth in 2025, with transactions through the country’s instant payment platform Raast approaching Rs50 trillion.

In its Financial Stability Review for 2025, the central bank said the number of Raast users rose to around 48 million, reflecting wider adoption of digital payment methods across the country.

The report noted that nearly two billion transactions were processed the following year, as both individuals and businesses increasingly relied on digital financial services for everyday payments.

The SBP said this shift highlights a broader move towards digitalisation in Pakistan’s financial sector, helping more people access formal banking services.

The review also pointed to growing participation from overseas Pakistanis.

The transaction history in the Roshan Digital Accounts exceeded $11 billion, while the number of active accounts rose to more than 890,000.

Officials of the SBP described digital payments as a key factor in reshaping the country’s financial system, making transactions faster and more accessible for users.

Raast is Pakistan’s first instant payment system launched by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), designed to facilitate free, real-time, end-to-end digital transactions between individuals, businesses, and government entities.
