Pakistan Railways has issued revised working hours for reservation offices, extending the evening shift by three additional hours to facilitate passengers with improved ticketing and booking services.
According to details, the Karachi Division of Pakistan Railways has formally issued a notification announcing new office timings for reservation staff. Under the revised schedule, the evening shift has been extended in an effort to provide better services to train passengers.
As per the notification, the morning shift at reservation offices across the Karachi Division will now operate from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, while the evening shift will continue from 4:00 pm until 12:00 midnight. The night shift will remain operational from 12:00 am to 8:00 am.
Previously, the evening shift ended at 9:00 pm, but it has now been extended until midnight.
Railway officials said the decision aims to facilitate passengers arriving during late hours, allowing citizens returning from work at different times to book tickets and reserve seats more conveniently.
The notification further stated that the Friday prayer break from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at the railway reservation offices will remain unchanged.
The railway administration has directed all concerned officers and station staff in the Karachi Division to ensure immediate implementation of the revised timings in accordance with existing rules and regulations to avoid inconvenience for the public.
