The Punjab Police has announced to intensify its efforts to monitor social media activities.

The Punjab Police has launched special measures to prevent hateful, provocative, communal and objectionable content on social media.

Police appeal to citizens to play an active role in preventing the spread of hateful content, asking them to immediately identify and report such content.

A public awareness message issued by the Punjab Police said that hateful, provocative and objectionable content on social media platforms could pose a threat to social harmony and peace and order in the city. Instead of ignoring, tell the concerned authorities understanding your responsibility.

If any citizen sees hateful content on Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp or other digital platforms, they should immediately contact the Punjab Police Lifeline, the notification said.

Punjab Police has issued two WhatsApp numbers 0307-3087777 and 0307-3097777 for this purpose, where citizens can provide screenshots, links or other relevant information.

Punjab Police says the cooperation of citizens is crucial to promote tolerance and peace in society.

The organisation urges the public to “not display your role in peace” and demonstrate collective responsibility against hateful content.

According to the Punjab Police, timely identification of hateful content can not only prevent possible spread but also help in establishing a safe, peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
