KP increases house requisition, special conveyance allowances for govt employees

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has approved an increased House Requisition Allowance for employees who are working in the Civil Secretariat, Chief Minister’s Secretariat, and Governor’s Secretariat.

In addition to this, the Special Conveyance Allowance for government employees with disabilities.

According to a notification issued by the Finance Department, the increase was approved during a special provincial cabinet meeting held on June 19, 2026.

The revised allowance will be given to employees from BPS-03 to BPS-22. The new rates took effect on July 1, 2026.

Additionally, the Finance Department has asked all concerned departments to implement the allowance as approved by the provincial cabinet.

Special Conveyance Allowance for govt employees increased

The provincial government has also increased the Special Conveyance Allowance for government employees with disabilities.

Under the new decision, the monthly allowance has been increased from Rs6,000 to Rs10,000.

The increase of Rs4,000 was approved by the provincial cabinet and later announced by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Department.

The revised Special Conveyance Allowance came into effect on July 1, 2026 as well. It will be paid to all of the eligible disabled government employees across the province.

Federal law officers may get a salary hike

Recently, the Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice directed the government to increase the salaries of federal law officers.

The decision was made during a committee meeting where members discussed the difference between the salaries of federal and provincial law officers.

The committee chairman asked the concerned authorities to revise the pay of federal law officers.

The committee also said that if the salaries are increased, federal law officers should not be allowed to continue private legal practice.

During the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) asked for more time to submit details about salaries and other benefits.

The committee accepted the request and directed NAB to provide the required information by July 30, 2026.
