Formula 1 (F1) Drivers’ Championship leader Kimi Antonelli topped the timesheet in the final practice session before qualifying for the 2026 FIA Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix, outpacing Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton by over three tenths of a second.
The session started with a steady stream of cars leaving on soft Pirelli tyres, including Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, Leclerc, Lance Stroll, Liam Lawson, and Fernando Alonso among the first to exit the pit lane.
Sergio Perez and Franco Colapinto soon followed, also on softs, while the Cadillac cars were seen using a previously run set.
Hamilton then took the lead with a time of 1:14.390 as Nico Hulkenberg and Pierre Gasly came out, while Norris’ first push lap of 1:15.176 left him 0.786 seconds behind the early leader.
Oscar Piastri entered the session and recorded a time of 1:13.945, moving ahead of Hamilton, while Antonelli then took P1 with a time of 1:13.374, 0.109 seconds clear of Russell, who had improved to 1:13.483.
The F1 championship leader continued to find speed, lowering the benchmark to 1:13.137. Leclerc responded with a time of 1:13.355 to surpass Russell, but it was not enough to dethrone Antonelli.
Verstappen, who had only completed six laps in the first part of the session, returned to the track on the same set of soft tyres he had used earlier.
Around the halfway point, a brief yellow flag was waved after Colapinto half-spun at the hairpin, with the rear of his car appearing to lose grip as he attempted to turn in. Verstappen then improved to 1:13.969, still 0.832 seconds behind F1 championship leader Antonelli.
