Pakistan national team captain Babar Azam made an interesting remark after meeting British King Charles at a special reception hosted for the Pakistan cricket team at Clarence House. King Charles met the players and officials of the national side during the reception, which was also attended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.
Babar’s light-hearted comment after the meeting quickly caught the attention of cricket fans. Speaking to a top media channel, the Pakistan captain said, “It was great to meet the real King today.” The remark drew widespread appreciation on social media, particularly because fans often refer to Babar Azam as the “King” of Pakistan cricket.
During the meeting, King Charles encouraged the players and, while speaking with Mohsin Naqvi, appreciated Pakistan’s efforts toward promoting peace in the country and stability in the region. Speaking to Sky Sports after the meeting, Babar Azam said with a smile, “It was great to meet the real King today.” Babar’s remark quickly gained appreciation from fans on social media, as cricket fans often refer to him as the “King Babar” on the field.
Meanwhile, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi described the meeting with King Charles as a highly valuable and memorable occasion. At the end of the meeting, the Pakistan cricket team presented King Charles with a special cricket bat as a gift.

During the meeting, King Charles also discussed cricket with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and spoke about Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and security in the country. The British High Commissioner also briefed the King on Pakistan’s role in regional peace efforts, highlighting the contributions of Pakistan and Naqvi in this regard.
