The District Sports Department is set to host the Chief Minister Punjab Table Tennis Championship 2026 at the Sports Gymnasium in Khanewal, starting at 3:30 p.m. on June 9.
Teams of boys and girls from all four tehsils in the district will take part in the competition. The teams that win will advance to the inter-district competitions scheduled to take place in Multan Division.
Additionally, athletics competitions will occur on June 10, involving boys’ and girls’ teams from all four tehsils of Khanewal.
Events such as the CM Punjab Table Tennis Championship are being organised by the District Sports Department to encourage sports and youth involvement at the grassroots level.
National Table Tennis Championship concludes in Peshawar
The 61st National Table Tennis Championship wrapped up in April 2026 in Peshawar, with WAPDA taking the title in both the men’s and women’s divisions.
WAPDA competed in nine categories and secured 4 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 5 bronze medals. The gold medals were earned in the men’s team event, women’s team event, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles.
In individual events, WAPDA players performed well. They won two bronze medals in men’s singles, and Bisma Faryal earned a silver in women’s singles.
Additionally, WAPDA collected three more bronze medals in other categories, totaling five bronze medals overall.
This remarkable success reinforces WAPDA’s top status in Pakistan’s table tennis scene and showcases its ongoing dedication to excellence in sports.
