President Asif Ali Zardari has already approved the summary to summon the separate sessions.
The announcement comes as the government prepares to present the federal budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year later this week.
Speaking on Tuesday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the budget is expected to be presented in the National Assembly on June 12.
He added that the Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will unveil the government’s financial plan for the upcoming fiscal year before the lower house of parliament.
The expected budget date marks another change to the government’s schedule. Officials had previously planned to present the budget on June 5, but the date was postponed due to consultations with coalition partners and discussions over proposed fiscal measures.
The government later indicated that the budget could be presented on June 10, before announcing a further adjustment to the timetable.
In a post on X, Tariq Chaudhry said that summaries had been sent for the convening of both parliamentary sessions.
He confirmed that separate meetings of the National Assembly and Senate would be held on Wednesday and reiterated that the federal budget is likely to be presented on June 12.
The annual budget is expected to outline the government’s spending plans, revenue targets and economic priorities for the next fiscal year.
