The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has issued a new notice to all registered medical and dental practitioners whose registration or license in the council is inactive, urging them to validate and renew their registration or license within 6 months of the latest notice issued by the council.
The council had given this directive under the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Act, 2022, and the relevant regulations, advising the affected doctors to submit their applications for renewal within the stipulated period or face regulatory measures.
The PM&DC says the order affects the registration or license of medical and dental practitioners whose registrations or licenses are already inactive.
The council has urged the same practitioners to finish the necessary validation and renewal process before the six-month deadline.
The PM&DC has also issued a warning regarding registrations which have not been renewed for an extended duration.

The names of doctors whose registration has been suspended for more than 10 years in a row will be taken off the council’s register for good.
The council therefore encourages all medical/dental practitioners whose registration or license is inactive to take the required steps within the required period of six months.
The directive is designed to make sure that affected practitioners adhere to the council’s regulatory requirements.
This would help to keep the registration records up to date and allow medical and dental practitioners to continue abiding by the regulatory framework set up under Pakistan Medical and Dental Council Act, 2022, said the PM&DC.
The council has recommended that all practitioners impacted by the directive should fulfil their renewal process within the stipulated time frame.
If this is not the case, the requirements may be enforced and registrations that are not renewed after 10 years in a row will be removed from the council’s register permanently.
