HEC extends application deadline for Omani Scholarship Program

HEC Omani Scholarship Program

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has extended the application deadline for the Omani Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Studies 2026-27 to July 16, 2026, giving eligible Pakistani and AJK students additional time to apply for the fully funded opportunity.

According to HEC, Pakistani and AJK nationals holding a valid Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) score obtained on or after June 13, 2025, and valid until June 13, 2026, are eligible to apply. The commission clarified that no separate USAT test will be conducted for the scholarship.

The scholarship, offered by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman under the Cultural and Scientific Cooperation Program, provides two fully funded undergraduate seats for Pakistani students.

Eligibility criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be Pakistani or AJK nationals and not residing in Oman.
  • Have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent during the 2025-26 academic year.
  • Secure at least 75% marks in the qualifying examination.
  • Be 21 years of age or younger at the time of application.
  • Be medically fit.
  • Possess a valid USAT score meeting HEC’s eligibility requirements.

HEC stated that the General Education Diploma (or equivalent certificate) and academic transcript must be apostille-attested by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) for nominated candidates.

Ineligible programs

The scholarship does not cover degrees in:

  • Medicine
  • Dentistry
  • Pharmacy
  • Medical Laboratory Sciences
  • Education

Applicants are responsible for selecting eligible academic programs while submitting their applications.

How to apply

Candidates can submit their applications through the HEC Scholarship Portal by selecting “Learning Opportunities Abroad (LOA)” and choosing “OMANI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES 2026-27.”

HEC advised applicants to use their own active phone number and email address for all scholarship-related communications. Only submitted applications will be considered, while applications saved as drafts will not be processed.

Scholarship benefits

Selected students will receive:

  • Fully funded undergraduate education.
  • Monthly stipend of OMR 200 if accommodation is not provided.
  • Monthly stipend of OMR 140 if accommodation is provided by the host institution.
  • One round-trip air ticket per academic year.

The extended application deadline is July 16, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to submit hard copies of the required documents, including a valid passport, academic certificates, transcripts, MOFA apostille attestation, and a recent passport-sized photograph.
