The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has opened the income tax filing portal for the 2026 tax year and urged taxpayers to pay the tax through the portal on time. The department also instructed taxpayers to file their returns carefully.

The FBR wrote on X, “Income Tax Return filing for Tax Year 2026 will open from Monday, 27 July 2026. All taxpayers are advised to file their returns accurately & honestly, ensuring that all declared information is true & correct. Timely & truthful compliance strengthens the tax system for everyone.”

The tax authority also advised taxpayers to provide accurate information while filing their tax returns to avoid any inconvenience.

The FBR said filing tax returns honestly and on time will help improve transparency and strengthen Pakistan’s tax system.

It also urged taxpayers to complete the process before the deadline instead of waiting until the last day to avoid penalties or legal action.

Earlier, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) announced that the last date to submit income tax returns is July 27, the private media outlet reported on Friday.


The spokesperson for FBR urged citizens to file their tax returns with honesty to enhance the tax system in the country.

The spokesperson also said that all details should be correct while submitting tax returns.
