According to reports, unofficial and preliminary results have started coming in after polling ended in the first phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections 2026 across 13 constituencies in the Mirpur Division.
Vote counting is currently underway, and the results are not final. Millions of voters have cast their ballots in the Mirpur Division, and candidates from major political parties are in close contests.
According to the latest unofficial results:
- LA-1 Dadyal: PML-N’s Azhar Sadiq is leading with 1,908 votes, and PPP’s Chaudhry Afser Shahid is in second place with 1,158 votes.
- LA-2 Mirpur-2: PML-N’s Chaudhry Azeem Bakhsh is leading with 1,080 votes, and PPP’s Chaudhry Qasim Majeed has 924 votes. Independent candidate Chaudhry Zafar Anwar is also contesting the seat.
- LA-3 Mirpur-3: PML-N’s Chaudhry Saeed is in the lead over PPP’s Chaudhry Yasir Sultan, according to the unofficial early results. IPP’s Raja Tasleem Arif and Chaudhry Moeez Majeed are behind.
- LA-4 Mirpur-4: A close contest is being reported between PPP’s Sohaib Arshad Chaudhry and PML-N’s Chaudhry Rukhsar.
- LA-5 Bhimber-5 (Barnala): PML-N’s retired Colonel Waqar Noor and PPP’s Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf are in a close race. IPP’s Malik Iftikhar Tayyab Awan is also contesting here.
- LA-6 Bhimber-6 (Samahni): PML-N’s Chaudhry Muhammad Razzaq and IPP’s Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni are in a tough contest.
- LA-7 Bhimber-7: PML-N’s Tariq Farooq is leading with 8,789 votes, and Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq is second with 5,359 votes. IPP’s Professor Raja Ayaz Khan is also competing.
- LA-8 Kotli-1 (Raj Mahal): A close contest is reported among PML-N’s Malik Nawaz, PPP’s Zafar Iqbal Malik and IPP’s Zulfiqar Ali.
- LA-9 Kotli-2 (Nakyal): PML-N’s Sardar Umair Naeem, PPP’s Chaudhry Javed Budhanvi and IPP’s Tahir Farid are contesting.
- LA-10 Kotli-3: According to early results, PML-N’s Fateh Mehmood-ul-Hassan has 1,156 votes, while PPP’s Muhammad Yaseen Chaudhry has 1,166 votes. IPP’s Malik Muhammad Yousaf is also contesting.
- LA-11 Kotli-4 (Sehensa): PPP’s Chaudhry Akhlaq is leading with 384 votes, while PML-N’s Muhammad Asif is second with 109 votes. IPP’s Muhammad Talib Khan is also in the race.
- LA-12 Kotli-5 (Charhoi): PML-N’s Muhammad Riasat Khan, PPP’s Muhammad Yaseen Chaudhry and IPP’s Subha Sadiq are contesting the constituency.
- LA-13 Kotli-6 (Khoi Ratta): According to preliminary results, Nisar Ansar Abdali is leading with 95 votes, and PML-N’s Ayaz Ahmed has 91 votes.
Officials have said vote counting is still in progress. This means that these results are unofficial and can change until the Election Commission issues the final results.
