Islamabad to get new tourism, hotel projects

The federal government has decided to launch several joint development projects in Islamabad to promote tourism, entertainment, the hotel industry and other sectors today.

During the meeting, it was decided that the CDA and EOBI would prepare a detailed plan for joint projects in different sectors. Both organisations have been directed to submit a final proposal within 15 days.

Officials said that another meeting, chaired by Mohsin Naqvi and Salik Hussain, will be held after 15 days.

It will be arranged to finalise the proposed projects related to tourism, recreational facilities, the hotel industry and other development plans in Islamabad.

The meeting was informed that work on the projects will begin after receiving final approval from the prime minister.

The decision was made during a special meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. Overseas Pakistanis Minister Salik Hussain joined the meeting through video link.

Chairman of the Employees’ Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) Javed Sheikh, Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Sohail Ashraf and senior officials from both organisations also attended.

Mohsin Naqvi directed officials to prepare practical plans to support Islamabad’s development, promote tourism and create more investment opportunities. He said that the projects should help improve facilities in the federal capital.

According to officials, the joint projects aim to develop modern tourist facilities, improve recreational areas and attract private investment.

The proposed plans will also include projects related to the hotel industry, commercial development and better public facilities.

Sindh govt announces 500 EV buses, 50 double deckers

The Sindh government has announced plans to add 500 electric buses and 50 double decker buses to the public transport system, according to reports today. The move is part of its plan to improve transport services across the province.

The announcement was made during a meeting led by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Officials also reviewed the progress of transport projects.
