Karachi traffic accidents toll climbs to 295 in 2026

Rescue officials have reported that the total number of deaths and injuries resulting from traffic accidents in Karachi has reached 295 in 2026 so far.

Data provided by emergency services indicates that at least 100 individuals have died after being struck by heavy vehicles, raising major concerns regarding road safety and traffic management in the city.

In the most recent traffic accidents reported in Karachi within a few hours, two additional individuals lost their lives in separate accidents.

Near Sakhi Hassan, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle, while in the Landhi Chaawal Godam area, a motorcyclist was fatally crushed by a water tanker.

Authorities link the increasing accident rate to reckless driving, inadequate enforcement of traffic laws, and the growing presence of heavy vehicles on the roads.

Citizens have voiced their worries about the absence of proper regulation and safety measures.

In view of the situation, officials have called for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and improved monitoring of heavy transport vehicles to prevent further loss of life.
