In line with the Islamabad High Court (IHC) orders, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued instructions to stop the use of government officials and public resources for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) march towards Islamabad.
The KP Chief Secretary directed all relevant officials to strictly follow the court orders. He said that if any official is asked to join the march towards Islamabad, they should immediately inform the Chief Secretary or Inspector General of Police.
An office memorandum issued by the KP Chief Secretary said that no government official should support or facilitate any march, rally or procession heading towards Islamabad.
Restrictions on public movement and services
The instructions state that no march or rally should be allowed if it is likely to affect public movement, business activities, educational institutions or access to medical facilities in Islamabad.
The memorandum also issued clear instructions on the use of government resources.
Ban on use of government resources
Government vehicles, machinery, equipment, public funds and other government resources cannot be used for any march or rally.
The Chief Secretary directed relevant officials to ensure compliance with the court orders. Government officials who violate the orders may face departmental action.
Helpline for complaints
The office memorandum also provided a helpline for reporting any obstruction or incident.
Officials or other relevant people can call 091-9210068 to report any obstruction or incident.
‘After IHC decision no one can storm Islamabad’
Federal Minister for Interior of Pakistan Mohsin Naqvi said on Friday that after the decision by the IHC, no one can storm the Federal capital.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the interior minister stated that anyone who disobeys the court orders will face contempt of court.
Mohsin Naqvi stated that many heavy losses have been suffered in the past. If fire is opened on the jawans, they will not remain silent.
