In order to serve the convenience of public, the Foreign Affairs Ministry (MoFA) has decided to operate the consular services of its headquarters in Islamabad from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm from Monday to Friday in the evening shift.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the initiative via his official X account, saying it was part of the government’s continued drive to enhance the delivery of services to the public and ensure Consular services are more accessible, efficient and citizen friendly.

The evening shift was introduced on July 27, 2026, through a public notice by the Ministry’s Consular Affairs Division, aiming to help applicants and improve the overall service provision of consular services.
The new schedule is for tokens to be handed out in the morning from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday. There will be tokens available for use during the evening shift every Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and at the end of the day on Friday evening from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The ministry said the additional hours allowed would help to make the services of consulates more accessible and to provide more efficient and rapid services to the citizens.
