West Indies registered a dominant 90-run win in the first Test of the two-match series against Pakistan at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy on Tuesday, finishing Pakistan at 120 runs, having set a target of 212 for the fourth day in the country’s first match.
Chasing a 212-run target, Pakistan’s batting line-up was swept away by the disciplined West Indies pacers, headed by Jayden Seales, who created a match-winning spell of 5-20.
Kemar Roach and Justin Greaves each were able to make two wickets each, while Shamar Joseph took one wicket.
Pakistan’s post tea session, however, started at 114-9 before the team was all out after scoring six more runs.

The last man Mohammad Abbas was sent to the pavilion by Seales through an lbw.
Captain Babar Azam held his bat throughout the innings, and scored 58 runs from 107 balls. Abbas made a valiant 23.
Mohammad Rizwan was the sole other man to cross the double-digit mark with 11 runs.
The Pakistani chase had started off badly when Imam ul Haq was caught out for three runs, followed by two wickets in quick succession of Azan Awais and Salman Ali Agha by Seales, which left the Pakistani team standing at 25-3.
The collapse was briefly halted by a 21-run partnership between Rizwan and Babar but Greaves was able to break the stand with a bowling spell that saw Rizwan dismissed, leading to another collapse.
Then Pakistan suffered five wickets for 25 runs and stood at 71-9 score line as Babar and Abbas added 43 runs for the final wicket.
Seales’ superb bowling performance proved effective against Pakistan’s weak batting as the win puts West Indies in a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series.
